Set in the Portuguese coastal capital, Nova Batida is a festival of discovery, art, music, and culture

Nova Batida returns for a second year to one of the world’s most creative cities, Lisbon, for three days of music, art, and culture. From 13th-15th September, Nova Batida will see a headline performance from Four Tet, alongside indie rock trio Friendly Fires, Jon Hopkins (DJ), Octavian, Floating Points Solo Live, Slowthai, Akala, Special Request, Midland, Jayda G, Mr Scruff and many more.

A festival designed to engage, create and experience, ticket holders will be welcomed back to the Portuguese capital for a long weekend of eclectic music, food, education, wellness, culture and lots more with the full programme to be revealed in the coming weeks. Tickets are available from £99. More information can be found here.

Nova Batida will be set in what is considered the cities coolest quarter and a hub of ‘creative mini cities’ at the LX Factory and Village Underground Lisboa.

Headlining the main stage for 2019, Four Tet will be bringing his experimental and innovative DJ set to Lisbon. Having arrived on the music scene in 1998, Four Tet has gone on to collaborate and remix tracks with an endless list of artists including Aphex Twin, Bicep, Radiohead, Ellie Goulding, Lana Del Rey, Manic Street Preachers, Sia, Thom Yorke, Burial, and Black Sabbath.

Known for their unique anthemic choruses, and swooning melodies of indie dance rock, Friendly Fires will be taking to the stage across the weekend. Set to release their anticipated third album, the trio’s hits include “Love like Waves”, “Heaven Let Me In”, and “Jump In The Pool”.

Having released his fifth studio album “Singularity” last year which was nominated for best electronic/dance album at this year’s Grammys, the critically acclaimed DJ and producer, Jon Hopkins will be on hand, indulging in his passion for transcendental electronic beats.

A carefully curated line up of some of the most influential electronic artists
In 2017, French-born, south-east London-raised rapper Octavian announced himself to the wider world with the release of his first official single, “Party Here”. Since then Octavian has received praise from the likes of Drake, Virgil Abloh and countless Radio 1, 1Xtra, Beats 1 and Rinse FM DJs.

Set to storm the weekend, Slowthai has rapidly become one of the UK’s most exciting and excitable rappers. The Northampton born-and-raised artist’s music is a frenetic clash of punk energy, speaker-thrashing hip-hop and rebellion. Since releasing his first track in 2016, Slowthai has gone on to rack over ten million Spotify streams with anthems like “T N Biscuits”, “Doorman”, and “Rainbow”.

Alongside these incredible acts, electric and epic performances can be expected from the likes of  Talib Kweli, Akala, Ross From Friends, Jayda G, Mr Scruff, Floating Points, Ben UFO and many, many more.

Set alongside its eclectic music line-up, Nova Batida will take over the creative coastal capital with a programme of experiences day to night including surf lessons, rooftop yoga, talks, museum tours, workshops, and delicious local street food and drinks.
